PreScholars Nursery NewsAt PreScholars we believe in developing a good grounding in education and health and fitness to ensure all round well-being. PreScholars is the first nursery in Doha to offer Pilates classes adapted specially for our little ones.

Pilates Movement and Core exercises
Pilates is a body conditioning routine that increases flexibility, endurance, coordination and strengthens muscles through controlled movements done as mat exercises or with equipment to tone and strengthen the body. Pilates improves mental and physical well-being. Joseph Pilates believed that our physical and mental health are intertwined. He designed his exercise program around principles that support this philosophy, including concentration, precision, control, breathing, and flowing movements.

What could be a better way to correct postural imbalances and motor impairment- before it’s too late! Most postural patterns begin during childhood and Pilates works on self esteem and empowerment from the inside out.

FIGHTING CHILDHOOD OBESITY

Active Kids, Healthy Kids

  • Encourage infant and toddler activity - allow lots of time for and space for movement; allow them to practice rolling and crawling also rather let them walk and not ride in strollers.
  • Get them outside - outdoor activity i.e. playing tag or kicking or jumping on a ball.
  • It strengthens the heart - the heart responds to exercise; being challenged with exercise makes the heart stronger and healthier.
  • It strengthens the lungs - working hard or playing hard increases the lung capacity which improves oxygen intake.
  • It reduces blood sugar levels - exercise helps blood take up glucose and turn it into energy.
  • It strengthens bones - exercise increases bone density and makes bones stronger.
  • It regulates blood pressure - exercise reduces stress levels and blood pressure.
  • It improves energy levels - regular exercise makes children feel energetic.
  • It improves concentration and balance.
  • It enhances emotional well-being - exercise releases beta endorphin's and also serotonin which all makes you feel better
